Playfully designed and exquisitely painted, the Nao Little Clown in Love figurine combines sweetness with quiet humor. Resting on a bench, the slim clown takes a break from performing to contemplate a beautifully executed flower. Handmade in Spain from fine porcelain, this figurine is an excellent example of the famous Lladro studio’s craft. Though the attitude of the sculpture is whimsical, its details are wrought with a subtle hand and an attentive eye. It is even easy to see the wood grain of the clown’s seat, the stitching in his shoes, and texture of his fur-trimmed coat. A handsome gift or addition to a collectibles cabinet, the piece bears the Nao stamp on its underside.
