RegScanner is compatible with editions of Windows operating system ranging from Windows 98 to 7. There is a unique downloadable version for use in x64 systems. Very often you may need to find Registry values for editing them with RegEdit. In such situations the freeware of RegScanner v1.77 lets you specify search parameters; the software then recovers Registry values that equal the criteria and exhibits them in a single list.
With a double mouse click on each item on the catalog you can move straight to the correct RegEdit value. Alternatively you can create a .regfile for utilization in RegEdit and export the retrieved Registry values to it.
An advantage of the software over RegEdit search/find is that it dispenses with the need to press F3 for finding the subsequent value, by showing all values together. Besides the regular string search permitted by RegEdit, RegScanner v1.77 also authorizes search based on data length, altered key date and value type.
The Unicode string present within the binary value can be identified by RegScanner v1.77. It shows the present searched Registry key not shown in RegEdit. It also permits a DWORD/Binary value search and case sensitive hunt. The software also searches the Registry of a distant computer connected to your network if you login with admin privileges.
RegEdit’s command-line option can be used to make this software open a preferred key in RegEdit. The software allows employment of the Reg.URL to connect you to a RegEdit Registry key.
In Version 1.77 the software does not use the complete key path for hunting for a string that is being searched with the parameter of ‘exact match’ to ensure that the key is found. Earlier versions did not have this provision and hence the key was never discovered in case such a parameter was given.
