Clarification About Content On ITGossips
If you’ve been regularly visiting ITGossips you would have noticed a lot of changes over the last couple of days. The reason for all these changes is, change in management of ITGossips.
There have been some technical changes in the way the site functions now and the new change has been bit of a challenge rather than being a easy transformation. The blog subdomain on ITGossips had Wordpress MU installed earlier, but the new management decided to change this as there were a lot of spammy blogs set up, which was affecting the health of the overall site.
The trasnformation from WordPress MU to WordPress Single User was not as smooth as we expected. A lot of missing links broken links, unavailable posts have been on for. The new management along with extensive help from previous owner Buchin, has been constantly working to iron out all the problems. So, please do not be surprised if you end up in a page that does not have the content you were looking for.
On traffic front, it’s a little disheartning to note that traffic has done down by around 50%. However, with all the necessary measures we are taking and working on, we expect to recover atleast 20 -30% of the traffic. The rest 20% of traffic was going to spammy blogs, well though it will be profitable to regain that traffic, from a long term view, the new management has deicded to let go of that traffic.
ITGossips will concentrate mainly on IT / Tech / Gadgets / How To’s / Tutorial related content and hence it the content to other blogs is not of an interest to the management. However, the management has decided to retain a blog or two, purely on request basis.
Over the next few days, we are still working on weeding out content that is not related to Technology related. If you happen to find any content you think is inappropriate, do leave a message. We’ll try and clear the content.
And as always, we are open for new suggestions, so please keep them coming in though comments of this post.
