Does your blog content stealed by spam blogs?

When it comes to talk about spammers. There are spammers who especially stealing content. The method is there are steal from our RSS feed and with WordPress plugin called FeedWordpress or WP-Autoblog.

They are called splogs . What a funny name.

Wether your blog already spammed with splogs or not (yet ) defense against splogs and how to strike it is necessary. Although not all of steps I mention I’ve implemented, I’ve implemented some of them.

1. When writing content, don’t forget to self link to your other post. We get two advantages : 1. If the spammer stealing your content using those plugins. The Stealer’s Blog will trackback your linked post to be moderated. With this way, we know who the spammers are by visiting their website. Thay have a common mark like blablabla write a great post but the content just copy and paste from our blog. Mark them as spam. 2. With linking to our past post, we will get some backlinks .
2. Report them to Google. When you feel your SERP ruined by spam blogs, You can report them to Google. Google is working hard to give the most relevant result to its user. So report them to Google is a good way to do.
3. Report the spam blogs at spam reporter. There are spam reporters website. One that I know and has the API is Splog Spot. Splog Spot has a huge database of spam blogs. But I think they should redesign its copyright.
4. Run the feed copyrighter plugin. Angsuman has a great plugin called Feed Copyrighter Plugin. With this plugin, splogs can be automatically identified .
