How To Add Digital Watermark To Your Flickr Photos

Well, did you know that Flickr has an inbuilt feature using which you can add digital watermarks to your photos you upload to your account on Flickr ?

This is possible because Picnik is integrated with Flickr. Picknik is a free service that lets you edit your photo in real time and in the browser. You do not need to download anything on to your system.

Once you upload a photo to your Flickr account, click on edit photo. Clicking on the edit photo will open your photo in Picnik where you’ll have two tabs - ‘Edit’ / ‘Create’. Click on ‘Create’ and a bunch of sub-tabs will come up, click on the tab ‘Text’.

In the left side bar, you’ll find a text box where you can enter the text which will be the watermark on your image. Click on ‘Add‘ once you enter the text. The entered text will get added to the image. Now use the ‘Size‘ to adjust the size of the ‘Watermark text‘ and use the ‘Fade‘ slider to make the text a bit transparent. The ‘Watermark’ text can be draged and droped any where within the image, and hence you can place it in a position where you want. This is one of the main advantages which you do not get in any other professional watermarking tools.

The disadvantage of watermarking this way is that you cannot upload / add your custom images and signatures. If you want to use custom image / signature / logo / brand identity as your watermark then read this article.
